The International Department of Tsinghua High School held the 2015 International Day

On the morning of December 2nd, the 2015 International Day, organized by the World Language Teaching and Research Group of the International Department of Tsinghua High School, kicked off in the multi-function Hall。Nearly 300 students, teachers and students of the Middle School and children of the fifth grade of the primary school participated in this colorful activity。

In the early morning, students dressed in the traditional costumes of the countries they represent arrive at the multi-function hall。First up was the International Village, with 17 classes representing 17 countries, including Luxembourg, Belarus, South Africa, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Vietnam and Mongolia。These countries are provided by the teachers of the World Language Teaching and Research Group and are freely chosen by the students of each class。At the event site, each class used their own carefully designed booth to show the culture of the country they represented, including geographical overview, language use, culture and art, economic development, population migration and other content。Students went to booths in different countries with pre-designed problem sheets to investigate the migration problems in each country and how to solve them。In particular, in order to allow ESL (English as a Second Language) students to participate in this activity, the teachers of the World Language Teaching and Research Group have asked students to choose one of the given countries to study the migration problem in early October。The Global Village activities not only allow students to learn about the diverse cultures of countries around the world, but also give them an in-depth understanding of the migration issues in different countries。

After the Global Village activity, the middle school students performed a wonderful interpretation of the culture of the country represented by the class through drama, song and dance。At the beginning of the activity, the Somali music short play brought by the 6th grade Purple class instantly ignited the atmosphere of the scene, and the cheerful melody and unique costumes won the applause of the teachers and students present。Subsequently, the Costa Rican innovative flag exhibition of Grade 7 Day class, and the wonderful Chilean traditional dance performance of Grade 8 Purple class were also refreshing。Among them, the performance of the Bahamas program performed by the homeroom teacher and students of Grade 7 Purple Class was the climax of the performance. The dynamic modern dance and rap were perfectly combined, so that the audience was deeply affected, and they told the passion and culture of the Bahamas in this unique way。The students of the day class of Grade 11 showed the exotic style of outer Mongolia with the form of four-hand piano and other musical styles。The performance ended with the emotional singing of the SpongeBob Panama mini-show for the day 12 class。
