The International Department of Tsinghua High School held the 2015 Winter Concert and Art Festival

From December 14 to 15, the International Department of Tsinghua High School held a series of winter concerts and art festivals。More than 400 students from all grades of middle school to primary school, as well as 100 teachers and parents participated in the event。

The event included the musical talent show of the Middle School choir performance and instrument playing group, as well as the musical and painting talent show of the primary School。

On the afternoon of December 14th, all the teachers, students and some parents of the Middle School were invited to enjoy the winter concert brought by the children of the International Department in the multi-function Hall of the High School Attached to Tsinghua University。The concert is mainly composed of chorus performance and Musical Instruments, closely around the theme of how to celebrate the Christmas journey, presented a happy musical feast to the audience, these works all reflect the children's enthusiasm for Christmas and love for music。

The event began with Jingle Bells, conducted by Grade 12 student Yip Kwon-ting and played by the Grade 6 band。Later, the 6th grade choir sang Mele Kalikimaka together, and the children sang with a strong Christmas atmosphere。After that, 7th and 8th graders, orchestra and guitar students, and drummer Cho Jong-lan played Wipe out. With the buoyant melody, the audience felt as if they had come to the beach of Hawaii and felt the excitement of surfing。After that, they and music teacher Mrs. Lyttle also played La Bamba and Angels We Have Heard On High, giving the audience a taste of Mexican customs and Christmas songs from around the world。This was followed by Sugar Plum Fairies, a piano duo performed by Ms. Moore and Joana He,A guitar ensemble brought by a group of six Grade 7 students Deck the Hall,Sixth grade flute clarinet Ensemble We Wish You a Merry Christmas。The children's affectionate performance won the applause of the audience again and again. They wandered in the art hall of music and experienced the wonderful music world composed by children。Then, by the 11th grade students Su Jingzhe, Deng Hanchen and Cao Zhonglan All I Want for Christmas Is You brought the concert to the climax, their tacit cooperation and moving melody won the audience bursts of applause。The high school and 8th grade band played A RiverTrilogy to commemorate their journey and envision where they want to go in the future。In a chorus of laughter, all the performers Let It Snow, so that everyone present immersed in the wonderful music, the middle school concert also came to a successful end。

The Primary School Arts Festival held at B106 on December 15 was equally exciting。The festival mainly consists of two parts: musical and painting exhibition。The musical revolves around the story of cats and dogs,It tells the story of cats and dogs who are opposed to each other and finally become good friends,Five acts,In order:It's Snowing Cats and Dogs, Let's Play, Just the Way That It Is, You'll Be Sorry, I'd Rather Be Your Friend and United We Stand。The children's vivid performance, as if brought everyone into the fairy tale kingdom, into the wonderful world of cats and dogs。This innovative form of musical performance not only integrates the collective wisdom of the teachers, but also cultivates the sense of solidarity and collaboration among the children。

After the performance, all the teachers and parents came to the library together to see the children's painting exhibition。Each student, with questions designed by the teacher in advance, searches for the designated paintings and introduces the paintings and their ideas to the teacher or parents。The whole library is decorated with a colorful world of children's works, and parents and teachers are also moved by the children's serious attitude toward learning and novel ways of painting。This activity not only allows the children to experience the vivid and colorful art world, but also exercises their oral English skills。
